MADISON, Wis. – MAGA Congressman and candidate for Wisconsin governor Tom Tiffany’s record of far-right extremism gets scarier by the day.
“As hard as he’s been trying, Congressman Tiffany can’t hide from his horrific record,” A Better Wisconsin Together Communications Director Lucy Ripp said in a statement. “Time and time again he’s taken votes and supported policies that do real harm to working people, families, and local communities here in Wisconsin.”
As Halloween approaches, A Better Wisconsin Together tallied the top 10 terrifying things Congressman Tiffany has done while in public office:
- Congressman Tiffany has benefitted from nearly $65 million in campaign cash from MAGA billionaires between January 2025 and October 2026. Last summer, Tiffany voted to give massive tax cuts to the ultra-rich paid for by cuts to healthcare and food for the senior citizens, working people, and children he’s supposed to represent. He also recently pledged not to raise taxes on billionaires.
- Congressman Tiffany took thousands from a data center lobbyist, and voted to give data centers a nearly $70 billion tax cut while working families foot the bill. He also voted to block Wisconsin from regulating AI for ten years and says data centers are a “great new technology” that he would “certainly” consider bringing to Wisconsin.
- Congressman Tiffany supports banning abortion with no exceptions, and has the endorsements to prove it. Tiffany recently backed a total abortion ban with no exceptions, voted to ban abortion in 2015, co-sponsored a 2021 federal abortion ban, and voted against protecting Wisconsinites’ right to access birth control. Tiffany is endorsed (for the seventh time) by the notorious anti-abortion group Wisconsin Right to Life and was given the highest rating from Susan B. Anthony (SBA) Pro-Life America – a group that wants to end abortion rights at the federal level. A group connected to SBA Pro-Life America is also spending money to help elect Congressman Tiffany.
- Congressman Tiffany was willing to throw out the votes of millions of Wisconsinites in 2020 when he didn’t like the results and bought into debunked conspiracy theories. He not only supported a wild lawsuit that even the right-wing majority on the U.S. Supreme Court wouldn’t take up, he voted against certifying the 2020 election results and years later was still refusing to acknowledge the truth that Donald Trump lost the 2020 election. Tiffany even suggested January 6 insurrectionists should be eligible for payouts funded with our tax dollars.
- Congressman Tiffany, a state legislator at the time, voted for the largest cut to public education in Wisconsin history – and he hasn’t stopped there. In Washington D.C., Tiffany has sponsored legislation to eliminate the U.S. Department of Education.
- Congressman Tiffany supports weakening Wisconsin’s environmental protection enforcement. It’s not just that Tiffany took money from pro-mining interests and then sponsored legislation to gut state environmental protections. Tiffany has even bragged that being named as one of the worst state legislators for protecting people from pollution was a “badge of honor.”
- Congressman Tiffany keeps voting to raise costs, and was nowhere to be found when he had the opportunity to make housing more affordable. Congressman Tiffany has voted 5 times to continue the war in Iran, and even more times in favor of MAGA tariffs, despite knowing that it’s pricing Wisconsinites out of everything from gas to groceries. But when he had 3 opportunities to show up and vote on a bill to make housing more affordable in Wisconsin, Tiffany skipped all 3 votes.
- Congressman Tiffany voted to protect politicians like himself from accountability. When fellow Republicans and big business special interests were alleged to have run afoul of state ethics and campaign finance laws, Tom Tiffany didn’t want to get to the bottom of it. Instead, Tiffany authored a bill to change the law and exempt politicians like himself from future, similar investigations of political corruption.
- Congressman Tiffany opposes common sense gun safety. Most everyone, including gun owners, supports common sense safety laws for firearms. But not Congressman Tiffany. He co-sponsored and voted in favor of a bill to eliminate a waiting period for handgun purchases, and has introduced legislation to allow people to carry hidden guns in public without having to pass a background check, be licensed, or have any gun safety training. Congressman Tiffany’s opposition to common sense gun safety measures has even earned him an endorsement from the National Rifle Association (NRA), a group that is also spending money to support Congressman Tiffany’s current campaign for governor.
- Congressman Tiffany’s campaign blocked the free press from covering a public event of his, and doubled down on it when asked if he would continue doing so if elected governor.
