MADISON, Wis. — Desperate Donald Trump is slated to make a primetime television speech tonight, reportedly focused on recycling lies about his 2020 election loss. Trump’s gambit to distract, divide, and cling to power comes amidst a domestic rising cost crisis and a war he started by choice.
A Better Wisconsin Together Deputy Director Mike Browne notes that Trump’s MAGA lackey and GOP gubernatorial candidate in Wisconsin, Tom Tiffany, hasn’t just voted for the right-wing agenda that’s hurting working people to pay for tax giveaway’s to billionaires. Tiffany has also gone all in on attacking our freedom to vote and hold our elected officials accountable.
“Voters pick our leaders, not the other way around,” said Browne. “But Tom Tiffany, a willing accomplice in Trump’s debunked election conspiracies, isn’t above throwing out Wisconsinites’ votes when he doesn’t like the results.”
In the aftermath of the 2020 election, Tiffany supported efforts to use the courts to try to overturn Trump’s loss, and he even went so far as to join far-right MAGA members of Congress in voting against certifying state election results.
While Trump’s 2020 election loss in Wisconsin and nationally has been confirmed time and again, including by more than 60 courts, some of which even included Trump-appointed judges, as recently as Spring 2026, Tiffany refused to admit Trump lost in 2020.
Tiffany has also been willing to go even further in interfering with our freedom to vote. He’s publicly expressed his opposition to voting by mail, even though he has frequently cast a ballot early in person or by mail, and has remained mum while a bipartisan group of state election officials spoke out in opposition to efforts by the Trump administration that could severely impede voting by mail in Wisconsin, especially in rural areas.
Tiffany has also supported pardons for individuals involved in the deadly January 6 insurrection and even endorsed a gambit by Trump to use taxpayer dollars to set up a slush fund to pay off insurrectionists and others who tried to overturn the 2020 election.
“Wisconsinites deserve elected officials who respect our votes, even when the result doesn’t go their way,” Browne said. “But it seems Tiffany prioritizes debunked conspiracy theories and the MAGA agenda over his own constituents.”
