MADISON, Wis. – A Better Wisconsin Together is applauding Planned Parenthood of Wisconsin for filing a petition today asking the state Supreme Court to protect the right to abortion care under the Wisconsin constitution.

The following are statements from A Better Wisconsin Together Communications Director Lucy Ripp:

“Today’s announcement from our friends at Planned Parenthood of Wisconsin is a monumental step in solidifying across the state the overwhelmingly popular belief that access to comprehensive reproductive care is a fundamental right, and that politicians have no business mandating decisions that ought to be made between a patient and their doctor.

“As Republican politicians in Wisconsin and Washington D.C. continue promoting dangerous abortion bans, we are hopeful that the Wisconsin Supreme Court will agree to hear this case and move us further down the path of ending political interference in Wisconsinites’ personal medical decisions once and for all.”
