MADISON, Wis. — The following are the statements of A Better Wisconsin Together on the opening of the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee:

“The fundamental promise of our nation is that we have the freedom to speak our minds and to choose our leaders.

“We reject violence in our political process, just as we reject it in all of our communities.

“As the Republican National Convention begins in our state, we will continue to exercise our freedom to speak up for the policies we believe in and to speak out against a MAGA agenda that seeks to divide us and to strip us of fundamental rights.”
