MADISON, Wis. — The following are the statements of A Better Wisconsin Together on Governor Evers’ announcement that he has reached a bipartisan agreement on the 2025-27 state budget:

“Thanks to Governor Evers’ leadership and the efforts of legislative Democrats, the working people and middle class families of Wisconsin have been spared the worst of the Republicans’ extremism in the state budget.

“In the Spring, Republicans declared Governor Evers’ plans to deliver cost savings, hold the line on property taxes and make investments in critical priorities like public schools and child care ‘dead on arrival’. More recently, Republican leadership had on multiple occasions stormed out of budget negotiations.

“Today’s announcement of a budget agreement that begins to address priorities like delivering cost savings for working families, supporting public schools and child care, and investing in health care is a testament to the hard work and dedication of Governor Evers and legislative Democrats. For that we are thankful.

“Make no mistake, there is more work to be done to deliver for the people of Wisconsin. We will continue to demand progress and to hold the Republicans who stand in the way accountable.”
