Congressman Glenn Grothman, a Republican representing parts of eastern Wisconsin in the House of Representatives, was recently caught on mic saying he thinks Congress should do more for rich people.
The good news for Grothman (but bad news for everyday Wisconsinites) is that the biggest ally for billionaires is closer to him than he might think: fellow MAGA Congressman of Wisconsin, Tom Tiffany.
Tiffany has represented Wisconsin in Congress since 2020, and now is the Republican candidate for Wisconsin governor. But his record in office shows a career of looking out for the wealthiest few at the expense of the hardworking Wisconsinites he’s supposed to be representing.
Last summer, Tiffany voted to rip healthcare away from seniors and food away from hungry kids so he could fund huge tax giveaways for billionaires. Less than a year later, MAGA billionaire connected cash began pouring into Tiffany’s campaign for Wisconsin governor.
As of early August, in 2026 alone Tiffany had benefited from more than $10 million in campaign cash from right-wing Illinois billionaires Richard and Elizabeth Uihlein, and Wisconsin’s richest person Diane Hendricks. In July, Tiffany went on the radio and admitted he opposes taxing billionaires.
Tiffany also voted to change Wisconsin’s campaign finance laws to allow billionaires and corporations to make unlimited donations to political parties and campaigns.
So, if Grothman wants the latest tips and tricks on how to throw Wisconsinites under the bus in order to give billionaires another leg up, he need not look further than his colleague Tom Tiffany’s office.
