Coincidence? Congressman Tom Tiffany Pledges Not to Raise Billionaires’ Taxes, Billionaires Funnel Money to Congressman Tom Tiffany’s Campaign

It’s possible that the timing of $12 million in donations from the MAGA billionaire Uihleins is a coincidence, but Congressman Tiffany’s selling us out to serve the ultra-wealthy is no accident.

MADISON, Wis. — At the same time Congressman Tom Tiffany publicly pledged he would never raise taxes on billionaires, two ultra-wealthy MAGA billionaires – Dick and Elizabeth Uihlien – funneled $12 million dollars to the Republican Party of Wisconsin (RPW), which then passed the money on to Tiffany’s gubernatorial campaign.

“It’s possible that the timing of $12 million in donations from the MAGA billionaire Uihleins is a coincidence,” said A Better Wisconsin Together spokesperson Mike Browne. “But Congressman Tiffany’s selling us out to serve the ultra-wealthy is no accident.”

In an online article dated September 15, a right-wing group reported that Congressman Tiffany signed their pledge and vowing that, as governor, he would never seek to close corporate tax loopholes or support policies demanding the ultra-wealthy pay more in taxes.

According to state campaign finance records, Dick Uilhlein doled out $6 million to the RPW on September 15, and Elizabeth moved $6 million more the following day, for a total of $12 million. RPW then funneled $2 million a day on September 16, 17, and 18 to Tiffany’s gubernatorial campaign, before larding him with $6 million on September 19, for a total of $12 million over the four days.

Browne noted Tiffany hasn’t just vowed to never raise taxes on billionaires, he’s also voted for tax giveaways for the ultra-wealthy, including last summer when Congressman Tiffany voted to rip healthcare away from seniors and food away from hungry kids so he could fund huge tax giveaways for billionaires.

Congressman Tiffany previously voted to change Wisconsin’s campaign finance laws to allow the ultra-rich and corporations to make unlimited donations to political parties, and then allow the parties to make unlimited campaign cash transfers to candidates like himself.

The ultra-wealthy MAGA billionaire Uihliens have not been shy about showing their appreciation, or exploiting the loophole in state law created by Tiffany and his fellow Republicans. To date in the 2025-26 election cycle, the Illinois couple have doled out over $65 million to support Congressman Tiffany’s gubernatorial bid and to elect MAGA acolytes in Wisconsin.
