MADISON, Wis. – Just days after an endorsement from Donald Trump, Republican Congressman and Wisconsin gubernatorial candidate Tom Tiffany is wasting no time courting even more support from right-wing extremists in his tumultuous bid to be Wisconsin’s next governor, this time as a featured speaker at a Moms for Liberty event that took place this week.

“We’re learning more every day about Tom Tiffany’s vision for Wisconsin, and each day it gets more concerning,” said A Better Wisconsin Together spokesperson Lucy Ripp.

Moms for Liberty is a far-right group that, according to news reports, recently tried to ban more than 30 books from Wisconsin libraries. The Southern Poverty Law Center notes that Moms for Liberty wants to censor school curriculums, and has also promoted an anti-LGBTQ+ agenda. Tiffany’s appearance this week with Moms for Liberty comes after he signed a pledge with the group in 2025.

“We already knew Tiffany wants to put himself in charge of things he has no business in, like our private healthcare decisions,” said Ripp. “But now it’s clear he also wants to put himself in charge of our kids’ education, including what they read and what they learn.”

Ripp also noted that Tiffany sponsored a bill to get rid of the U.S. Department of Education, voted for the biggest cut to public education in Wisconsin history, and has sat idly by as Trump and other Republicans cut funding for local public libraries across Wisconsin.
