Jesse James Wants to Subject Another State Senate District to His Backwards Agenda

The people of the 31st district deserve to have a state senator who’s on their side. Based on his record, it’s not Jesse James.

MADISON, Wis. — Not content with voting against working people, supporting giveaways to the wealthy, and siding with big corporations as the state senator for Wisconsin’s 23rd State Senate District, Republican Jesse James announced today he would like to also subject the people of the 31st District to his wrong-headed, backwards agenda.

The following are the statements of A Better Wisconsin Together Communications Director Lucy Ripp:

“Jesse James has been a disaster in the state senate. This guy votes over and over against working people and families and instead sides with giveaways to wealthy corporations and donors.

“Just look at his record. Jesse James voted against increasing general school aid and forced higher local property taxes. He opposed lowering health care costs for thousands of Wisconsinites and held up state help during a crisis when area hospitals and health clinics abruptly closed. James has blocked funding to help veterans and refused to hold corporate polluters accountable as state Senator for the 23rd district. And he believes in putting politicians in charge of the kinds of personal medical decisions women should instead be making with their doctors and families.

“The people of the 31st district deserve to have a state senator who’s on their side. Based on his record, it’s not Jesse James.”
