MADISON, Wis. — Extreme right-wing and partisan Judge Maria Lazar today announced her bid for the Wisconsin State Supreme Court in a video posted on Elon Musk’s social media site X.

Lazar is seeking to replace the retiring Rebecca Bradley who, in a clear admission that her judicial and political extremism and vitriol could not win an election, announced she would be stepping down at the end of her term in 2026.

While Lazar signaled she will try to hide views from the public, her record is crystal clear. A memo detailing just some of Lazar’s right-wing extremism and partisanship is located here.

The following are the statements of A Better Wisconsin Together on Lazar’s announcement:

“Maria Lazar embodies right-wing extremism and the willingness to sell us out to the wealthy and to powerful political special interests that Wisconsinites have time and again rejected.

“As Wisconsinites we value our freedom and demand justices on our state high court who will work for us, not the wealthy elite, the politically connected, or the extreme right-wing.

“Maria Lazar’s record has repeatedly shown how she’s chosen them over us, much like Rebecca Bradley, who admitted her vitriol and extremism couldn’t win an election when she announced her retirement.

“The extreme right-wing, the wealthy, and the corporate special interests may have found their new standard bearer in Maria Lazar. But the people of Wisconsin have shown time and again they reject her brand of extremism and partisanship.”
