Early Voting is Officially Underway in Wisconsin, Here’s What You Need to Know

With early voting for the November 2024 election officially underway as of October 22, voters across Wisconsin have the power to speak up about what’s going on in our local communities and the future we envision for our state and our nation.

In Wisconsin, you are eligible to vote where you live as long as you’ve resided there for at least 28 days. If you’re not yet registered, simply bring a photo ID and proof of address to register right at your polling location when you show up to vote. You can find your polling place, check your registration, find out what’s on your ballot, and more at www.myvote.wi.gov

If you’re voting by mail, the United States Postal Service recommends mailing your ballot back at least 7 days before Election Day.

This November, there’s a lot more at stake than just the race for President and U.S. Congress. This is the first major election where Wisconsinites will be voting under fair, non-gerrymandered state legislative maps to decide the makeup of our elected leaders at the State Capitol.

Our state legislature is integral in making decisions about our rights and freedoms, including everything from abortion and school funding to the cost of living and affordable health care.

Also on this November’s ballot will be important local races for county offices and, depending on where you live, referendums to support public schools and local government services. There will also be another right-wing authored attempt to amend the state constitution, this time trying to change the original wording of the state constitution that right now protects the right to vote for every citizen.

With so much at stake this Fall, make sure the people you care about can count on you to be a voter.
