Donald Trump’s Bus Tour Hits Roadblock in Wisconsin

No matter how hard Trump tries to steer our state in the wrong direction, Wisconsinites are at the wheel, and we’re shifting gears to a forward looking agenda that ensures our communities have the tools we need to build a thriving life for our families.

MADISON, Wis. — As Donald Trump’s bus tour makes pit stops across the Badger State this week, Wisconsinites aren’t buying a ticket to ride.

“If Trump wants to gas up his unpopular agenda, he’s better off packing up and traveling elsewhere,” said Lucy Ripp, Communications Director at A Better Wisconsin Together. “His backwards agenda relies on looking in the rearview mirror, but Wisconsin families would rather look ahead than follow his Project 2025 map that would put us in reverse.”

Instead of helping Wisconsin working families with policies to crack down on price gouging and lower grocery prices, Trump and his MAGA allies are making a u-turn with their plans for more tax cuts for the wealthy few and gutting Social Security and Medicare – benefits that hardworking Wisconsinites have earned after years of hard work.

When asked how he would make healthcare more affordable and accessible, an issue top of mind for Wisconsinites as many across the Badger State are dealing with hospital closures, Trump admitted at a recent Presidential debate that he still doesn’t have a plan, nine years after declaring he would repeal the Affordable Care Act.

According to Ripp, Wisconsinites deserve more than concepts of a plan. We deserve real action.

“No matter how hard Trump tries to steer our state in the wrong direction, Wisconsinites are at the wheel, and we’re shifting gears to a forward looking agenda that ensures our communities have the tools we need to build a thriving life for our families,” said Ripp.
