A Better Wisconsin Together Thanks Governor Evers for Years of Serving Wisconsin, Standing up for Our Rights and Freedoms

MADISON, Wis. — In response to Governor Tony Evers announcing he will not seek a third term as Governor in 2026, A Better Wisconsin Together released the following statement:
“Throughout his career, Governor Evers has been a champion for Wisconsin kids, families, schools, our infrastructure, our democracy, our environment, our rights and freedoms, and so much more.
“From introducing the most pro-kid budget in state history, to restoring Wisconsin’s commitment to two thirds funding for schools for the first time in decades, to his 400-year veto that will help our schools for centuries, Governor Evers has always lived up to his motto that what’s best for our kids is what’s best for our state.
“Governor Evers has also given Wisconsinites a renewed shot at a state legislature that truly reflects our communities and the issues we care about, signing new fair maps into law last year that put a stop to decades of Republican gerrymandering.
“Through his commitment to making the everyday lives of Wisconsinites better – whether it was repairing miles of roads and bridges or always standing up for safe and legal abortion care and the rights and freedoms of LGBTQ+ youth – Governor Evers has made sure Wisconsin is set up for success, no matter what comes next.
“But the fight for a better Wisconsin isn’t over.
“As we reflect on and honor what Governor Evers has accomplished so far, we cannot forget that there’s more work yet to be done. Over the next year and beyond, we look forward to seeing the progress our governor will continue to get done for Wisconsin, and holding accountable any politician who tries to take us backwards.”
