MADISON, Wis. — In response to the Trump Administration’s blatant overreach and misuse of power in arresting duly elected Milwaukee County Circuit Court Judge Hannah Dugan, A Better Wisconsin Together released the following statement:
“Today’s Trump-ordered arrest of Milwaukee Judge Hannah Dugan is a blatant attack on our freedoms and the integrity of our judicial system, and an alarming escalation of Trump and his allies’ hostile takeover of our government.
“The Trump regime is no longer just ignoring court orders, now they are arresting judges that don’t do exactly as they demand. Trump and the MAGA regime want us to fear our neighbors, stirring up chaos and division in hopes that we won’t see how his failed policies are raising costs and tanking our economy, starving our communities and hurting working families. But we aren’t falling for it.
“In Wisconsin, we value our judicial system and our freedom to disagree with those in power. Wisconsin voters elected Judge Dugan, and all of our elected judges are accountable to us, the people of Wisconsin, not a radical right-wing agenda.
“The power is ours, and we know from our past that when we come together we can restore our country and government to one that works for us, not power-hungry politicians and billionaires.”
