A Better Wisconsin Together Statements Ahead of Tonight’s Presidential Debate
MADISON, Wis. — Ahead of tonight’s Presidential debate between Vice President Kamala Harris and MAGA leader Donald Trump, A Better Wisconsin Together is urging Wisconsinites to pay attention to the vastly different futures that are sure to take shape on the debate stage.
“Donald Trump, as he always does, will try to dodge his record, duck responsibility, and seek to divide and distract,” said Lucy Ripp, communications director at A Better Wisconsin Together. “From bragging about hand-picking the justices that overturned Roe v. Wade, promising a room full of billionaires he’ll help them avoid paying what they owe in taxes and having a Project 2025 contributor campaign for him in Wisconsin last week, Trump can’t hide from his terrible record tonight.”
Meanwhile, Vice President Kamala Harris has a plan to protect and expand our freedoms and make sure Wisconsin families are able to thrive, not just survive.
“From her plan to reinstate the protections of Roe v. Wade, to cracking down on price gouging at the grocery store and addressing the housing crisis and health care affordability, it’s clear that Vice President Harris is listening to the concerns of everyday Wisconsinites and taking action,” said Ripp.
Across race, zip code, and party, we all deserve leaders who will ensure we don’t have to choose between putting food on the table, paying for housing, or affording to see a doctor when we’re sick. We also deserve to make our own reproductive health care decisions, free from political interference.
“There’s no debate that Donald Trump’s dangerous record and radically out of touch views will be on full display tonight,” said Ripp. “The good news is, Wisconsinites get to choose the future we want to see.”
