MADISON, Wis. — As Wisconsin members of the United Auto Workers union join other workers across the nation in striking for fair wages, job security, and more, A Better Wisconsin Together stands in solidarity with their ongoing efforts to secure what should be guaranteed rights for all Wisconsin workers.

The following are statements from Chris Walloch, executive director of A Better Wisconsin Together:

“A Better Wisconsin Together stands in solidarity with Wisconsin’s United Auto Workers, who are unduly suffering while their employers rake in record profits.

“It was just three weeks ago that we commemorated Labor Day and Wisconsin workers’ pivotal role in the labor movement, striving for economic opportunity and workplace rights for all. Today, auto workers are demanding that their basic workplace rights be honored and recognized, a battle that shouldn’t have to be fought in 2023.

“Wisconsin is strong when our unions are strong, and we all – whether we’re represented by a union or not – benefit from those who are willing to fight for our freedoms and to demand that the promise that hard work earns you a fair shot to succeed is fulfilled.”

To make comprehensive workers’ rights a reality in Wisconsin, we need our elected representatives to fight for it. Together, we can demand that good wages, workplace safety, and high quality benefits are fundamental freedoms for Wisconsin workers. Call your legislator today at 1-800-362-9472 and demand they stand up for workers’ rights.
