A Better Wisconsin Together Releases Statement on Tragic News of Minnesota State Lawmakers Targeted by Apparent Political Violence

We are heartbroken for the families and loved ones of the victims of the targeted, apparently politically motivated violence that occurred in Minnesota. The loss of life is tragic and we condemn the abhorrent violence directed at public servants.

MADISON, Wis. – In response to the tragic news out of Minnesota where two Democratic state lawmakers have been targeted by apparent political violence, A Better Wisconsin Together released the following statement:

“We are heartbroken for the families and loved ones of the victims of the targeted, apparently politically motivated violence that occurred in Minnesota. The loss of life is tragic and we condemn the abhorrent violence directed at public servants.

“Our freedom to express our views and advocate for what we think is best for our families and our communities is precious and fundamental to what we aspire to as a nation.

“We thank those – from elected officials to community activists and everyday people – who exercise this freedom, and we call on those who we entrust to govern in our name to not only condemn this violence in word but to also protect and respect our freedom with their actions.”
