MADISON, Wis. — Over the weekend, Wisconsin’s Republican Assembly Speaker, Robin Vos, pledged to move forward a bill to ban transgender athletes from competing in girls’ and women’s sports.

The following are the statements of A Better Wisconsin Together Deputy Director Mike Browne:

“This bill is transphobic, plain and simple. Trans children are not, and should not be, a political football for Robin Vos or any other politician. They are children, who deserve the love, support, and inclusion that all children should receive in their homes, schools, and communities.”
