Support for Abortion Rights Remains Strong in Wisconsin on Third Anniversary of MAGA U.S. Supreme Court Justices Overturning Roe v. Wade

On the third anniversary of the U.S. Supreme Court decision that overturned Roe v. Wade, and as polling continues to show that a majority of Wisconsin voters support safe and legal abortion care, A Better Wisconsin Together is urging Wisconsin Republicans to listen to their constituents and end their relentless attacks on our reproductive rights once and for all.

MADISON, Wis. — On the third anniversary of the U.S.

According to recent polling, a strong majority of registered voters in the Badger State (74%) support abortion access and believe that decisions on abortion should be made by individual patients in consultation with their doctor – not politicians. The survey also found that Wisconsin voters overwhelmingly (69%) support Planned Parenthood.

“As we reflect on the anniversary of the U.S. Supreme Court decision that set us back 50 years in the fight for reproductive freedoms, Wisconsin Republicans have not let up on their efforts to ban abortion in Wisconsin, even in the face of undeniable proof that it goes against the beliefs and safety of their constituents,” said Lucy Ripp, communications director at A Better Wisconsin Together.

On the heels of Wisconsin Republicans officially endorsing a near-total abortion ban and voting to cut Medicaid and defund Planned Parenthood at the federal level, these new survey results are further confirmation that Wisconsin’s GOP lawmakers are wildly out of touch with their constituents when it comes to reproductive healthcare.

“52 years after Roe v. Wade became the law of the land, and 3 years after the MAGA-packed court overturned it, Wisconsin voters clearly want and deserve better than what we’re getting from Wisconsin Republicans,” Ripp said. “We urge all of our elected officials to listen to the will of the people and protect and expand abortion access in Wisconsin.”
