OP-ED: Policy Agenda Unveiled at DNC is One That Looks out for Wisconsin Families

From lowering the costs of housing, healthcare, and groceries all the way to protecting and expanding our basic rights and freedoms like access to reproductive care and the voting booth, the policy agenda unveiled at the Democratic National Convention this week is one that prioritizes average working families.

From lowering the costs of housing, healthcare, and groceries all the way to protecting and expanding our basic rights and freedoms like access to reproductive care and the voting booth, the policy agenda unveiled at the Democratic National Convention this week is one that prioritizes average working families.

While the MAGA Project 2025 agenda would ban abortion care and prioritize the wealthy few while leaving everyday Americans behind, the policy agenda unveiled at the DNC this week would:

  • Reinstate the protections of Roe v. Wade;
  • Ban price gouging from big corporations;
  • Lower the cost of prescription drugs;
  • Prioritize tax cuts for the middle class;
  • Ensure all of our voices hold equal weight in our elections;
  • Ease financial stress for first time home buyers;
  • Increase public safety by reducing gun violence;
  • Make health care, including mental health care, and child care more affordable and accessible.

Across race, zip code, and party, we all deserve leaders who will ensure we don’t have to choose between putting food on the table, paying for housing, or affording to see a doctor when we’re sick. We also deserve to make our own reproductive health care decisions, free from political interference.

Call your state and federal lawmakers today and demand that they join leaders like Vice President Kamala Harris, Senator Tammy Baldwin, and Governor Tony Evers in making that a reality for Wisconsinites.
