Discord at Republican Primary Debate Underscores Biden Administration’s Real Solutions to Issues Wisconsinites Care About

As Republican politicians took the stage tonight for the second Presidential primary debate of the year, one thing became increasingly clear: while the second-tier presidential hopefuls are busy arguing amongst themselves and MAGA extremist Donald Trump continues to dodge the debate stage, the Biden Administration is delivering real solutions to the issues constituents care about.

MADISON, Wis. — As Republican politicians took the stage tonight for the second Presidential primary debate of the year, one thing became increasingly clear: while the second-tier presidential hopefuls are busy arguing amongst themselves and MAGA extremist Donald Trump continues to dodge the debate stage, the Biden Administration is delivering real solutions to the issues constituents care about.

“From abortion access, healthcare costs, and workers’ rights, to public safety and gun violence, those on stage couldn’t seem to agree on anything, except that they all are out of step with the needs and concerns of everyday Americans,” said Lucy Ripp, a spokesperson for A Better Wisconsin Together.

Meanwhile, the Biden Administration is listening to our concerns and delivering tangible solutions, through actions like:

  • Signing the Inflation Reduction Act and Bipartisan Infrastructure Law – two historic bills that continue to create jobs, increase wages, lower health care costs, protect the environment, improve our infrastructure, and give us the tools we need to build a good life;
  • Establishing an Office of Gun Violence Prevention to help local municipalities curb gun violence, and signing the most comprehensive gun safety legislation in decades;
  • Launching the SAVE Student Loan Repayment Plan, to ease the financial burden for Wisconsin families as the student loan repayment pause ends;
  • Establishing a federal childcare grant program to save money for low-income families;
  • Committing to defend and protect abortion access;
  • Standing with United Auto Workers for fair wages and job security, making President Biden the first sitting President to join a picket line;
  • Lowering costs, creating jobs, and strengthening supply chains through the CHIPS Act.

“There’s no debating it,” said Ripp. “The Republican politicians who took the stage tonight are busy going tit-for-tat on extremism, while we deserve leaders who will keep building on the Biden Administration policy successes that prioritize our concerns and put people over politics.”
