Assembly Republican Speaker Vos Indulges Conspiracy Theories Instead of Helping Wisconsin Families

While the rest of us are working every day to support our families, Robin Vos is spending his work days kicking back with conspiracy theorists

MADISON, Wis. — Just weeks after Republican Assembly Speaker Robin Vos directed legislators to pack up and call it quits for the year, leaving piles of work unfinished, he’s back to work. Working to advance election conspiracy theories, that is.

“Robin Vos has it all wrong,” commented Chris Walloch, executive director of A Better Wisconsin Together. “He sent the Assembly home in February, with 10 months left in the year, refusing to take up bills that would help Wisconsin families – including Gov. Evers’ surplus proposal to put money in families’ pockets, fund our public schools, and mitigate childcare costs across the state.”

“Instead, he’s spending his time meeting with conspiracy theorists trying to undermine the long ago decided 2020 election, an election won fairly and freely by President Biden,” Walloch continued. “He’s keeping Gableman’s sham investigation going on the Wisconsin taxpayers’ dime and entertaining an election sabotage scheme, when he could and should be on the Assembly floor discussing legislation that solves real problems faced by real Wisconsinites.”

“While the rest of us are working every day to support our families, afford childcare costs, education, and put food on the table, Vos is spending his work days kicking back with conspiracy theorists,” said Walloch. “He’s certainly made one thing clear: the modern Republican agenda prioritizes politics and personal gain over helping constituents.”
