Biggest Expense

It’s the biggest single expense that we have. We pay more for child care than we pay for housing.

We’ve got two kids that are in childcare right now. I have a two and a four-year-old.

It has been increasing. Our rates went up recently, and I’m told that they’ll go up again early next year if we don’t find any other kind of policy solutions and make some investments in child care.

We need fair maps and elected officials who are accountable to their constituents and a real kind of representative democracy, so that when we are asking for changes to policies that help families like childcare counts.

Folks who are in an elected position know that they need to listen to their constituents, or there could be consequences at the next election.
