MADISON, Wis. — This morning, every Republican in Wisconsin’s Congressional delegation voted to pass a budget resolution that will cut billions of dollars from programs that provide healthcare and other essential services to millions of Wisconsinites.

The following are statements from A Better Wisconsin Together Communications Director Lucy Ripp:

“Access to quality, affordable healthcare in Wisconsin should not depend on your zip code or what’s in your wallet.

“But Wisconsin Republicans woke up today and decided to cut off healthcare benefits for millions of their constituents, all to fund a tax cut for billionaires like Elon Musk.

“Derrick Van Orden, Tom Tiffany, Bryan Steil, Tony Wied, Glenn Grothman, and Scott Fitzgerald have once again proven that they will put Wisconsinites on the chopping block to help their mega-wealthy allies get tax cuts and line their own pockets.

“Wisconsinites’ healthcare is not a political bargaining chip, especially not to pay for tax cuts to billionaires at the expense of hardworking Wisconsin families. Our local Badger State communities deserve better.”
