MADISON, Wis. — As convicted felon Donald Trump brings his MAGA roadshow to the Badger State this afternoon, A Better Wisconsin Together is calling attention to just how out of step Trump’s radical agenda is with the future that hardworking Wisconsin families want for our state.
“Donald Trump and his MAGA agenda have no place here in Wisconsin, where we value freedoms like having voters – not politicians – decide the outcomes of our elections, and making our own reproductive healthcare choices, free from political interference,” said A Better Wisconsin Together Communications Director Lucy Ripp.
On top of bragging about his central role in restricting our reproductive freedoms with the overturning of Roe v. Wade and inciting a violent attack on our freedom to vote with the events of January 6, Trump and his MAGA allies are already plotting to roll back even more of our rights and freedoms in 2024 and beyond.
Ripp noted that in Wisconsin, we believe in a future where politicians have no place in our exam rooms, where the wealthy pay what they owe in taxes while hardworking families have what they need to thrive, where future generations have clean water to drink and clean air to breathe, and where all of our votes hold equal weight in our elections.
Yet, Trump has said he:
- Wants to put state politicians in charge of our personal decisions on abortion;
- Would orchestrate massive tax giveaways to the wealthiest while leaving average working families behind;
- Won’t commit to accepting the results of the 2024 Presidential election;
- And is letting big oil companies write his plans to undo strides in clean energy and climate change mitigation.
“Wisconsinites want – and deserve – better than a future of Trump and his MAGA allies’ misplaced priorities and attacks on our basic freedoms,” said Ripp. “We’ve united together to reject his dangerous agenda in the past, and we will do it again.”
