MADISON, Wis. — In honor of Indigenous Peoples’ Day, A Better Wisconsin Together Executive Director Chris Walloch released the following statement:

“On Indigenous Peoples’ Day, A Better Wisconsin Together stands with all of Wisconsin’s Indigenous populations in pushing for equality, justice, and an end to the systems that oppress Wisconsin’s Native communities.

“We also celebrate the resilience and power of our Indigenous communities, and recognize that while it is impossible to undo the violent and unjust history of colonization that was forced upon Wisconsin’s Indigenous tribes, A Better Wisconsin Together is committed to building a fair and just state where all Indigenous peoples can live in freedom, on their own terms – and we demand all elected officials in the Badger State commit to doing the same.”

Today, join A Better Wisconsin Together in demanding local leaders stand up for Indigenous communities in the Badger State. You can reach the state legislature here 1-800-362-9472, or your federal representatives here 202-224-3121.
