Why are mental health programs in school so important?
I teach at the high schools, and I see a lot of our students are disengaged, and that’s because of their mental health.
I think especially, we’ve all just come out of the pandemic, and we’ve seen that schools really stepped up, um, but it’s not possible for me as a teacher. I have 150 kids a day to be that for them.
We have how many kids that meet with a counselor, but they can’t get those meets met because we have one day a week that a counselor can come in, and then they have to sign up and go through all of these hoops in order to get those needs met. But if we could actually get everyone the help they needed, we’d be in a way better place as a society.
