Two area hospitals abruptly closed in 2024. Now it’s even harder for people in the Chippewa Valley to get care, and longer wait times and longer drives could put people’s health at risk.
When desperately needed state funds to help fill the gap in coverage was set aside, Republicans played politics and refused to compromise with the Governor and Democrats.

Now, the money is gone.
Instead of fighting for us, State Senator Jesse James said:
“I’m not going to talk about the hospital funding. It’s dead. It’s over.”
